I would like to share a compelling story that underscores the importance of taking vitamins. This experience, which occurred during my youth on a picturesque Canadian lake, may not only entertain you but also provide valuable insights into the benefits of proper nutrition.

I received an invitation from a friend of my mother to accompany him on a trip, where my primary responsibility was to care for the children. Upon our arrival, we took a day to visit a nearby lake, where he had graciously invited his nephew to join us. I recall sitting on the beach, my favourite dark blue Laura Ashley skirt gently billowing around me as I attended to the children, brushing away the tiny biting insects that had settled on the napes of their necks.

The children joyfully swam and played in the lake while I observed from the shore. Although I was tempted to join them, I refrained from entering the water to preserve my hairstyle. During the time I spent supervising the children, my mother's friend acquired a speedboat. He invited me to join him and his nephew for a boat ride. However, I hesitated, as I was concerned about who would watch the children in my absence. Ultimately, he persuaded me to go on the boat ride.

I vividly recall the boat slicing through the water, racing across what appeared to be an immense, seemingly infinite lake. The water was darker and more turbulent than during my rowing training sessions. As I gazed out, I noticed land far to my left, while the expanse ahead remained unbroken and desolate.

He then halted the boat and inquired whether I would be interested in going inner tubing. For those familiar with aquatic activities, inner tubing involves either sitting in a large inflatable tube or gripping onto one as the boat tows you across the water.

He cast a small white life preserver into the water, where it floated serenely, its bright white contrasting against the dark, undulating surface. The gentle waves lapped at its edges, creating a tranquil scene. A cord securely connected the life preserver to the boat, ensuring it remained tethered and ready for use.

Although I was not dressed for swimming, I agreed to enter the water. As the boat accelerated, it became increasingly difficult to maintain my grip on the life preserver. The vessel began to create large waves on either side, forming a distinct "V" shape. When I encountered one of those waves, I was propelled into the air.

I cannot accurately determine the speed of the boat or the distance I was propelled through the air. However, I do recall that during that time, I enjoyed having acrylic nails applied at upscale boutiques in Calgary. Unfortunately, the impact of my body hitting the water resulted in the loss of most of my nails. On a related note, I would like to emphasize that taking vitamins can significantly contribute to the growth of strong, healthy natural nails.

I vividly recall the sensation of floating, my body relaxed and weightless in the inky black water. The cold waves began to rise, gently pulling me deeper into the vastness of that dark expanse. The water was so opaque that I could not see my own feet beneath the surface.

As I gaze out at the expansive fields of crops in Manitoba, swaying like waves in the breeze, I often contemplate the immense size of that lake—perhaps four sections, or even eight or nine. In the distance, there were no houses or signs of civilization to be seen, only the endless stretch of water and the horizon.

As I felt myself drifting into a state of drowsiness, something substantial began to emerge from the depths beneath where my feet should have been. Its scales glimmered in the sunlight, catching my attention and drawing me into a moment of unexpected terror.

There are two important aspects of my character that I would like to share. First and foremost, I have a profound fear of sharks, a phobia that originated from watching the film "Jaws" during my childhood. This fear is so intense that I avoid entering the ocean altogether, regardless of how inviting a yacht may appear.

My fascination with marine life led me to study hammerhead sharks extensively, observing their amazing ability to navigate in large groups through the water. However, I am acutely aware of the risks associated with swimming in shark-infested waters; the chances of survival in such situations can be alarmingly low.

This fear resonates with a broader theme of vulnerability, akin to children who are cast out from their communities without essential life skills, support systems, or financial resources.

There is something frighteningly mesmerizing about about a shark's eyes. They possess an inscrutable quality that defies reason. This gaze is reminiscent of the intense stare of an alligator or a large snake, both of which observe their surroundings with a silent, predatory focus.

When you are food, you are food.

If you find this amusing, allow me to present a intriguing depiction of a shark feeding frenzy:

Probability of Survival: 0%.

Sharks can detect a single drop of blood in a vast amount of water. For instance, a great white shark can detect a drop of blood in 25 gallons (100 liters) of water, and can sense even small amounts of blood from up to 3 miles (5 km) away.

Sharks often explore objects in the water by biting them to determine what they are, a behaviour known as a "test bite." This is particularly true for great white sharks, which are known to circle and bump a potential prey before biting to identify it. This behaviour is not typically aggressive but rather a method for the shark to understand the nature of the object or organism.

Despite the impressive array of luxurious yachts that the wonderful Enes expertly showcases, my thoughts inevitably drift back to the ocean itself. As Enes enthusiastically points out features—“Look, this yacht has a pool! You can see people swimming from the lounge!”—I find myself daydreaming about the prospect of sailing from Canada to Barbados and Antigua with a group of friends. The idea of dancing to techno music all night and basking in the sun during the day is undeniably appealing.

However, I can't help but recall the potential chaos that could ensue, particularly the image of my more exuberant, drunk and disorderly friends teetering over the edge. This concern is not unfounded; I have experienced the consequences of being drunk and disorderly on a boat in Penticton, BC.

During a road trip, my friend Keri S, an avid extreme sports enthusiast from Calgary, and another acquaintance—whose name I will withhold—were enjoying a lively gathering with some new friends. After consuming a few wine coolers, I stepped off the flat back of the boat and unexpectedly fell into the water.

In my inebriated state, I found myself submerged, instinctively beginning to explore the underwater environment. I have always been comfortable holding my breath for extended periods, a skill honed through breath training while sitting at the bottom of a deep tank. As I swam deeper, the water grew darker, and I began to discover various lost items, including beachgoers' belongings and submerged flotation devices.

It was at that moment I realized I was not in a swimming pool. Prompted by this realization, I swam back to the surface and climbed back onto the boat, regaining my composure as I made my way to the front of the vessel.

No one had noticed that I had been absent for an extended period. The young men we had encountered were both charming and athletic. As I stood there, water dripping from my clothes onto the deck, I felt the collective gaze of the group upon me. Yet, in an instant, the atmosphere shifted back to the festivities, and the celebration resumed.

The ocean is home to a diverse array of creatures that differ significantly from those found in the waters of Penticton. Should an incident occur aboard a yacht that necessitates entering the ocean, there is a specific term that describes your likely status in that environment.

The ocean is the natural habitat of sharks, and in their domain, humans cannot hope to outrun or outmaneuver them. Entering the water significantly diminishes the likelihood of experiencing a successful "Enter the Dragon" Bruce Lee Vs O'Hara moment. Unlike birds, humans lack the ability to fly, which may explain my desire to obtain a helicopter license. However, it is important to note that boats can sink quickly, and helicopters accommodate only a limited number of passengers. My guiding principle remains: "No real friend left behind.”

Another intriguing aspect of shark behaviour is their preference for consuming prey while it is still alive. The chaos of screams, splashing, and panic contributes to the excitement of the hunt. Consider, for instance, the gaze of a cat with alive prey in mouth; its eyes often take on a wide, distant, and almost euphoric expression, reflecting a blend of excitement and instinctual ferocity. If one attempts to intervene and save the prey, the cat will typically flee with its catch. Now, imagine yourself floating in the water, surrounded by a group of sharks that share a similar predatory mindset.

My dogs do not engage in play as one might expect. When they encounter something particularly enticing, their eyes take on a striking, intense focus that signals their desire to eat. Consequently, when they fixate on a specific item, I refrain from placing my hand near them. I regularly brush my dogs' teeth, ensuring they remain sharp and healthy. Nevertheless, accidents can occur.

Boating instills a sense of caution in me. As someone who abstains from alcohol and relies on my good friend to prepare my meals, I have learned the importance of vigilance during my travels. Through careful observation, I have come to understand that if you are physically fit and capable of causing significant harm, it is crucial to remain hyper-vigilant about what you consume. There is always a risk that someone may tamper with your food or drink. Therefore, if you find yourself alone, it is essential be certain you want to place your trust in your chef and friends, as your well-being may depend on their integrity.

Acquiring proficiency in multiple languages can be invaluable in social situations where you find yourself among unfamiliar faces. When you are new to a group and others are already acquainted, understanding the nuances of their conversations can provide insight into their perceptions of you and help identify genuine friendships. This is also why it is advisable to exercise discretion when discussing personal matters while traveling with people you do not know well.

Did you know that if a shark is determined enough, it can propel itself out of the water to reach its target? This behaviour demonstrates the lengths to which these predators will go to catch their prey, even leaving their natural habitat in pursuit. Similarly, a fully grown alligator exhibits comparable tenacity. The distance these creatures are willing to cover for fun in pursuit of their goals is truly astonishing.

A shark has the ability to propel itself out of the water and onto your boat. If the shark is sufficiently large, it could potentially capsize your vessel. In such a scenario, you may find yourself adrift in the water, unwittingly becoming part of the ocean's ecosystem. It is essential to be mindful of your desires and the environments you choose to explore.

The phrase "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" is a cautionary idiom used to advise people to think carefully before expressing their desires, as the reality might not meet their expectations. This saying is often illustrated through various examples, such as the consequences of a wish in literature or real-life scenarios. For instance, in Jane Austen's works, characters like Mrs. Bennet and Elizabeth Bennet experience situations where their wishes backfire, leading to outcomes they did not anticipate.

In literature and media, the trope of "be careful what you wish for" is common, where characters make wishes that are granted but lead to unforeseen complications or regrettable outcomes.

Sharks typically do not launch themselves out of the water onto small boats with the intention of sinking them. However, sharks may jump out of the water in pursuit of prey or due to curiosity. In rare cases, a shark might accidentally jump onto a boat while trying to catch prey near the water's surface. That could be you, for example.

Humans often adorn themselves with the pelts of apex predators that they did not personally hunt, using these items as symbols of status and style. Conversely, when given the chance, apex predators consume humans as a source of energy. Wearing them in their belly.

I have gazed into the eyes of an apex predator for an extended period, experiencing an intimate encounter as it contemplated my presence. In that moment, I recognized that what I was observing was its body camouflage. Its eyes, positioned about a foot beside me, seemed to scrutinize my admiration of its exquisite skin.

As I gazed intently into its wide, wild reptilian eyes—slit-like those of my cats, yet entirely devoid of any playful warmth—I felt an inexplicable connection, as if it were communicating with me on a profound level. Its body was so motionless that it resembled a meticulously created sculpture. I could not discern the subtle movements of its muscles as it breathed, yet I could sense its thoughts resonating deeply within my soul, vibrating with an intensity that was both mesmerizing  and unsettling.

In a deep, gravelly voice that resonated with an unsettling intensity, it declared, “Succulent. Distinct. You have yet to lay eyes on me, but rest assured, I see you.”

Its eyes were clear and motionless, fixed intently on me. I am seldom completely certain about my interactions with wild animals, but on that day, I felt an undeniable awareness: had that enormous snake possessed my intelligence and dexterity, I would not be here today, sharing these words with you.

The same principle applies to alligators: the concept of "playing nice" is not part of their behaviour. Their version of play often involves rolling with their prey and concealing it beneath a submerged log. This understanding became particularly relevant during my visit to Busch Gardens in Florida, where I observed alligators lounging in the sun just a few feet away from small children who were laughing, running, and playing along the path.

A small fence, reminiscent of the low, rainbow-shaped barriers I use to protect my marigolds, separated the alligators from the children. However, it was clear that this fence was not electrified. Given the proximity of the alligators, I took extra precautions to ensure the safety of the children in my care by guiding them along the path that was farthest from these potentially dangerous reptiles.

Have you ever seen a gator circus? There is a compelling reason for its rarity.

Speaking of circuses, have you observed the current happenings in East Hampton, USA? This may provide a compelling reason to consider visiting Manitoba, Canada, instead this summer.

Mysterious ‘East Hampton Clown Massage’ wellness spoof has East Enders in giggles

I have developed a newfound fear of all clowns, and I would like to express my gratitude to Page Six.

Here is the website: www.easthamptonclownmassage.com. Despite my fear, I subscribed to the newsletter.

The United States continues to extend an invitation for us Canadians to visit their house. Remember what I told you about learning Spanish. CECOT is a place you never want to go, especially on a clerical error.

Upon reflecting on my decision to write this blog, I have come to the realization that I may inadvertently limit my opportunities to visit America. I love America! It’s a beautiful place. When I write, I mentally read my words with a pronounced Mississippi accent. Even if Melania were to send me 50 fully loaded Trump Gold Visa cards, I would still respond with, ‘Girl meet in Manitoba, Canada.’

Did you know that it is impossible to keep a great white shark alive in captivity? It exhibits a strong resistance to submission, particularly when confronted with a weaker entity. Given the chance, it would not hesitate to assert its dominance and eat you. This is precisely why I choose to avoid its natural habitat.

I can almost envision a mental connection with the shark or alligator. Their thoughts might be something like, "Why isn't my food entering the water with me?" or "Why is my food attempting to coax me into swimming through that object?" Additionally, they might wonder, "What is that intriguing sound my delectable prey keeps making, ‘fffrrriiieeennnddd'?"

Sharks and alligators lack a term for "friend." To date, no one has successfully taught apex predators to communicate in human language. This endeavour is as futile as my attempts to teach my dogs to articulate in English: "Mommy, we love you! Please pass us each three cookies from the right side of the second shelf, the ones with the delicious beef-flavoured filling."

Sharks are intelligent creatures. I am still fast, but not that fast, especially in the water.

This brings to mind another observation regarding the significance of eyes. During my travels across this magnificent planet, I often find myself drawn to small towns, where I enjoy immersing myself in the local culture. I appreciate the warmth of the community, and I find comfort in the fact that I can engage with others without the need for designer attire to fit in.

During my travels, I have encountered a diverse array of fascinating individuals. Many are drawn to me, not only because I tend to speak less, but also due to my willingness to assist others. Over time, I have come to recognize that my quiet demeanour and helpful nature may lead some to mistakenly perceive me as mentally slow. While I find this notion somewhat amusing in retrospect, I now understand the potential risks associated with such misinterpretations. This realization has prompted me to reflect on the importance of clear communication and the impact of first impressions in our interactions with others.

After several years of travel, I yearned for a period of stability and the opportunity to embrace a more conventional lifestyle. I sought to cultivate a garden and refine my homemaking skills. Consequently, I made the decision to relocate to a small town for a few months, allowing myself the chance to experience the tranquility and simplicity of everyday life.

One day, a kindly woman who bore a striking resemblance to Rose Nylund arrived at my country house. I welcomed her inside, assuming she was a representative of the local welcome wagon. However, it soon became clear that she was not quite the Rose Nylund I had envisioned.

Her conversations weren’t about her hometown of St. Olaf, Minnesota. She shared stories of experiences I had never encountered and had no desire to encounter. It felt as though I were living in a Stephen King novel. She said, "I like when people look into my eyes when I am talking to them." As a newcomer to the town, I found myself hesitantly meeting her gaze.

As she spoke, her gaze remained fixed on me, probing for any hint of my emotions. Her eyes, with pupils as small as pinpricks, were as cold and unyielding as ultramarine steel. I had encountered such eyes before—those of a deep-sea shark, emerging suddenly from the murky depths. They appeared lifeless yet were wide, wild, and frenzied, exuding a primal energy.

Razor-sharp teeth glinting menacingly, its mouth slightly ajar as it tasted the water, ever vigilant in its hunt. Those eyes that seemed to pin me down, the entire head of the water beast swaying slowly, tracking my every movement, attuned to the rhythm of my heartbeat. In that moment, it felt as though I was one with the apex hunter, its mouth slightly open, eyes devoid of empathy, seeking out my fear in the icy depths of the water.

I tried to refrain from making eye contact with her, concerned that she might perceive the profound thoughts swirling in my mind. Our gazes met, creating an immediate and profound connection.

Rose 2.0 began to convey to me, in essence, that I was now under her guidance and that a new chapter of my life was about to unfold. I sat there, maintaining a stoic demeanour, as I listened intently to her words. However, my mind began to drift into a contemplative haze. Vivid images reminiscent of "The Shawshank Redemption" flashed through my thoughts as she spoke. Gradually, I allowed my gaze to shift beyond her shoulder, taking in the expansive fields that stretched out behind the glass window. I noticed the absence of bars, leading me to ponder: this was not a prison, or was it?

As the weeks turned into months, I maintained a stoic demeanour. This situation created a profound sense of cognitive dissonance within me. As a child, I cherished "The Golden Girls," and here I was confronted by a woman who bore a striking resemblance to Betty White.

As she condescendingly outlined the consequences of my potential choices, my thoughts began to drift to the myriad of intimidating individuals I have encountered throughout my life. I reflected on the various situations I had navigated and the precarious circumstances from which I had managed to extricate myself.

I could hear her voice faintly in the background, and my thoughts drifted back to Rose. She had been outlining the consequences if I failed to adhere to her rules. As I observed her, it became clear that she was serious. I had endured too many challenges in my life to become subservient to Rose Nylund. I was resolute in my decision.

For the first time, I allowed my dark, almost black eyes to meet her steady blue gaze. I observed her demeanor wither and dissipate like dust in the wind. This reaction is not uncommon when individuals are confronted by one of God's unmasked warriors. This was a technique I had learned from my male friends around the world: chin up, eyes unblinking and unflinching. I then conveyed to her that I was aware of the truth. Later, when she called again, I approached the conversation with the kindness my friend's mother had advised me to employ when faced with persistent individuals during my childhood. I calmly informed her that I was a busy person and did not have the time to form new friendships at that moment.

One can only imagine her astonishment and the ensuing consequences that arose from my response. I noticed that Rose was taken aback; it was evident that she possessed knowledge I did not. My response had clearly caught her off guard. It became apparent that she was unable to decipher my thoughts or feelings and had been putting on a façade. I began to question the nature of reality. "Little House on the Prairie" wasn't real. What was Rose referring to, and who was the subject of her discussion? Due to my stoic demeanour, she may have assumed that I either concurred with her perspective or that I was unable to engage mentally.

In the country, rumours spread rapidly. I often found myself in conversations where individuals referenced topics I was completely unfamiliar with. Rose 2.0 was attempting to embody my persona, or perhaps the version of me she had come to know through hearsay.

With this in mind, I returned to my passions: baking, gardening, and studying the teachings of Sun Tzu.

To this day, I remain uncertain about her identity or the information she may have shared with my neighbours regarding me. I never encountered Rose again, and I have come to realize that this is for the best.

I grew up in a relatively isolated environment, which limited my exposure to the customs, languages, cultures, and behaviours of the outside world. As a result, I often found it challenging to comprehend the conversations and interactions around me. This lack of understanding fostered a deep-seated kindness and a desire to be helpful to everyone I encountered.

I once believed that the idyllic lives portrayed in "Little House on the Prairie" and "The Brady Bunch" were reflective of reality. I thought that misfortunes were confined to the world of film. When faced with unkindness from others, I assumed it was a result of my own shortcomings and that I simply needed to be more amiable. When I learned some of the truth I cried.

Throughout my life, I have held a particular perspective, one that began to shift a few years ago when I started to explore the reasons behind human suffering. Can you imagine what it feels like to feel divinely protected, shielded from any significant misfortune? When I seek assistance from the Supreme Being, I find that my needs are often met. With determination and effort, I have consistently achieved my goals and desires. Success becomes attainable when I commit to putting in the necessary work. I believe in my ability to manifest my aspirations into reality.

For a long time, I believed my purpose was to bring happiness to others and to help them recognize the importance of kindness. This realization has prompted me to reflect deeply on the complexities of human experience and the role we play in each other's lives.

I have a deep appreciation for individuals from rural backgrounds, often referred to as "country people." For those of you who reside in urban areas, having just one reliable friend from the countryside can significantly enhance your chances of navigating life's challenges. My research suggests that your likelihood of overcoming various obstacles can increase from 18% to an impressive 81%, depending on the skills and resourcefulness of your country friend. Furthermore, if you are fortunate enough to have two such friends, you may find yourself navigating life with greater ease and joy.

Rural communities often possess a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that is frequently overlooked. Contrary to the stereotypes perpetuated in popular media, individuals from these areas are not only intelligent but also prioritize healthy eating. My friends from the countryside exemplify this understanding.

In urban environments, we often lack awareness of the origins of our food, including the agricultural practices involved and the potential chemicals used in its production. We may not know how long certain items have been on the shelf or whether they retain their natural colour. The adage "you are what you eat" holds significant truth.

I recall a pivotal moment in my education when Lisa K, a friend with a free-spirited approach, introduced me to the concept of preservatives during junior high. Her influence extended beyond the classroom; she later took me to my first rave club, where the pulsating techno music would pause at the end of the night for a final, soulful rendition of Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved." This experience highlighted the connection between music, culture, and the appreciation of authenticity—values that resonate deeply in both rural and urban settings.

A nutritious diet is essential for the cognitive development of individuals in rural communities, as it provides vital vitamins that enhance critical thinking skills. Proper nutrition not only supports overall health but also plays a significant role in improving mental acuity and decision-making abilities.

The second aspect of my background that you should be aware of is my experience as a competitive swimmer. I dedicated myself to training for the dream of winning an Olympic gold medal. My father recounts how an expert in the field once approached him, expressing confidence in my potential to become an Olympian.

My training regimen included rigorous morning sessions focused on timed treading water drills. My coach emphasized the importance of mastering this skill, particularly in situations where one might be fatigued and without a flotation device, as it is essential for water survival.

Throughout my endurance training, I pushed through fatigue while my coach meticulously observed from the poolside, providing guidance and motivation. Whenever I felt the urge to stop, my sides aching from exertion, my coach would calmly encourage me with the words, “swim it out.” Inspired by his support, I would continue to push myself further.

At that time I had never shared that I was a champion swimmer in my past life. Talking about yourself is rude, unless you're blogging experiences. However, as I witnessed a massive swath of scales rising from the depths, I was immediately reminded of the film "Jaws." An adrenaline rush surged through my veins, and instinctively, I began to scream. I found myself caught in a moment of sheer panic, treading water with all my strength.

It is my fear fueled misconception that sharks inhabit the Great Lakes of Canada; however, this is not the case. What I experienced was a curious encounter with fish that approached me, likely intrigued by my presence. The flowing fabric of my Laura Ashley skirt, drifting in the water, may have resembled fins to them. Each time a giant fish swam past, brushing its scaled body against mine, I couldn't help but scream, a surge of adrenaline coursing through my limbs, heart, and mind. In that moment, I found myself searching the horizon for the boat, but it was nowhere in sight.

The fish and my swim coach played a crucial role in saving my life. At last, the boat reemerged, drifting a few meters away, with two men on board staring at me in disbelief.

Their expressions reflected shock, and I could understand why. My hair was tangled in the waves, and a mixture of lake water and mucus streamed from my nose. As I treaded water, I raised my arm, despite the pain of my broken nails. With a smile, I called out to them, “I’m okay!”

They stood there, staring with their mouths agape. Then, the nephew spoke to my mother's friend, his tone almost tinged with anger. They were too far away for me to catch the words they exchanged. Suddenly, the nephew quickly tossed me the life preserver.

Accidents can occur unexpectedly, especially when engaging in water activities. While five to thirty minutes may seem like a brief moment, it can represent a lifetime for someone who cannot swim or lacks the strength to stay afloat in turbulent waves.

That's why it's essential to take your vitamins. Whether you are an adventurer or a fan of extreme sports, you never know when you might find yourself treading water or swimming for miles. You may need to hike out of a remote location, navigating through sun, wind, or snow, or even running long distances. Strong foot muscles are crucial for these activities.

It's important to remember that wild animals do not see a kind person; they see potential prey. They can also detect health and vitality. In my experiences in the backcountry, I have had to fend off a large group of feral dogs by becoming the alpha dog. Yes, growling and baring teeth. When confronted by dogs, do not run; avoid letting one get behind you, and be prepared to defend yourself if necessary. Dogs can sense both health and fear.

Taking your vitamins is a proactive step toward ensuring your well-being. As an adventurer, maintaining your health significantly increases your chances of survival in challenging situations. Prioritize your health and equip yourself for the unexpected.

In certain situations, you may find yourself needing to hike down a mountain without any assistance in sight. In a worst-case scenario, you might have to rely on the moonlight to guide you through the woods. It is crucial to avoid running in complete darkness, as this can lead to dangerous missteps. However, ensuring adequate intake of vitamin A can enhance your night vision, helping you navigate safely and avoid hazards, such as cliffs, on your adventure back to civilization.

How did I arrive at this point in my life? It all began when my aunt gifted us children a subscription to National Geographic. The Earth is a fascinating and vibrant world of life, especially when one embraces the importance of health and well-being. Are you entertained? I sincerely hope so.

I take these vitamins to ensure I am well-prepared for any situation that may arise during my travels across and beneath the magnificent landscapes of our planet.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions including vision, immune system support, and cell growth. It exists in two main forms: preformed vitamin A (retinol, retinyl esters) found in animal products, and provitamin A carotenoids, primarily beta-carotene, found in plant foods like fruits and vegetables.

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid or ascorbate, is a water-soluble vitamin essential for tissue repair, collagen formation, and the enzymatic production of certain neurotransmitters. It is crucial for the functioning of several enzymes and supports immune system function. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing harmful free radicals. It can be taken orally or administered through intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous injection.

Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a fat-soluble vitamin that helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus, which are essential for building and maintaining strong bones and teeth. It plays a crucial role in bone health, immune function, and supports heart health. Vitamin D3 can be synthesized in the skin upon exposure to sunlight or obtained through diet and supplements.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant in the body, protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals. It is essential for the proper function of many organs and is classified as an essential nutrient for humans. Vitamin E deficiency is rare but can occur in people with certain genetic disorders and in very low-weight premature infants. It is used to treat vitamin E deficiency due to an inherited condition that affects motor control, known as ataxia with vitamin E deficiency (AVED).

Vitamin K2, also known as menaquinone (MK), is one of three types of vitamin K, alongside vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and vitamin K3 (menadione). Vitamin K2 is found in animal products and fermented foods, and it consists of various forms, indicated by a suffix (-n), such as MK-7 or MK-9.

B vitamins are essential coenzymes that help our bodies convert food into energy. Because each B vitamin has its own unique role in energy production and health, they work best when taken together as a complex.

Timed-release B vitamins maintain optimal levels by releasing them gradually over several hours. B100 Complex Timed Release tablets contain bioactive forms of vitamins B6 and B12.

No Flush Niacin provides vitamin B3 (niacin) in the form of inositol hexanicotinate. Standard forms of niacin cause a flush of the skin accompanied by heat and itching. While the niacin flush is harmless, it can be disconcerting and uncomfortable – which is why we offer this no-flush formula for daily support.

SISU Folic Acid helps prevent neural tube defects when taken prior to becoming pregnant and during early pregnancy. It also helps to produce red blood cells and maintain good health.

Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in various metabolic processes, including the utilization of fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids. It appears as a white, needle-like crystalline solid and is classified as a heterocyclic compound with a sulfur-containing tetrahydrothiophene ring fused to a ureido group.

Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is essential to all life and is a component of coenzyme A (CoA), a molecule that is necessary for numerous vital chemical reactions to occur in cells. Pantothenic acid is essential to the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, as well as for the synthesis of hormones and cholesterol.

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in your body and plays many roles in your health. It helps in the development and maintenance of bones and teeth and maintains normal muscle function. Getting enough calcium, along with vitamin D and regular exercise, may help prevent osteoporosis.

Iron is an essential trace mineral that the body needs to form healthy red blood cells and deliver oxygen to tissues throughout the body. Supplemental iron can help prevent iron-deficiency anemia and associated fatigue and tiredness.

A coupling of three important minerals. Potassium Iodide (KI) is a compound that contains Iodine, a nutrient necessary for normal thyroid function. Iodine in the form of Iodide is an integral part of thyroid hormones, which regulate cellular metabolism and energy production. NOW® Potassium plus Iodine also supplies 99 mg of Potassium and 5 mg of sodium per tablet. These minerals impact water balance in the body.

Magnesium is an important mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body. It can be challenging to meet your daily requirements with food alone, so incorporating a high-quality supplement into your daily regimen is a great option.

I AM CANADIAN

As I finished washing the dishes and cleaning the flower pots, I realized something important while preparing to tend to my raspberry bushes and flowerbeds. I had neglected to properly conclude my story, leaving several loose ends unresolved. This oversight is particularly bothersome to me, as I often find it frustrating when movies do the same.

As we stood back on the beach, I noticed the two men engrossed in conversation, and I felt compelled to wander off. Disoriented, I stumbled through the woods and came across an old trailer.  A figure swiftly emerged from within, nearly breaking into a run, and began to bombard me with a rapid succession of questions, each one more urgent than the last.

While I can’t recall the specifics of his inquiries, I vividly remember the sharp sting of a horsefly that bit me twice—once on each butt-cheek. I flinched twice, exclaiming "Ow!" as I was caught off guard by the sudden intensity of the pain. The individual then said, “When they bite, they take a piece of flesh.”

I then turned around, walked back to the beach and my mother's friend. The nephew was gone. Throughout our entire trip, I cannot remember ever encountering the nephew again.

Sharks are found in Canadian waters, ranging from the Atlantic to the Pacific and even into the Arctic. Species like the blue shark, shortfin mako, and porbeagle shark are commonly found off the Atlantic coast, while others such as the spiny dogfish can be found in the Pacific waters off British Columbia.

The Greenland shark, known for its ability to tolerate extremely cold waters, is found in the North Atlantic and Arctic waters. These sharks can be found as far north as the Arctic Ocean. Therefore, sharks are not far from Canadian waters; they inhabit various parts of the country's extensive coastline.

I initially believed it was a lake, but perhaps there was a reason I couldn't spot any beach houses along the horizon.

1) Why didn't I Become an Olympic Swimmer?

The answer eludes me. One day, my parents made the decision to prohibit me from swimming altogether. As a child, my mother shared with me that she named me after the renowned actress Natalie Wood.

2) Where were the children while I was treading water in the middle of the lake?

My mother's friend had entrusted his small children to a stranger he encountered on the beach. This unfamiliar individual then took them to his beach house.

3) Why did he extend an invitation to his nephew?

A few days earlier, I had the pleasure of meeting my mother’s friend’s nephew during a gathering with his extended family. We quickly bonded over shared laughter, as we were close in age—I was 23. This commonality allowed us to connect through familiar social references.

My mother’s friend, who was 43, had a deep appreciation for Conway Twitty’s music. I can still vividly recall the frequent moments he belted out “Don’t Take It Away” at the top of his lungs, albeit somewhat off-key. The memory sends chills down my spine to this day. I remember the very moment he removed his upper front four teeth dentures and flashed me a smile. He mentioned that he sustained a hockey injury during his youth.

Please know that I mean no offense to the Conway Twitty estate; I genuinely love in tune country music and appreciate its heritage.
